This afternoon we played in the square at the end of the street. What started out as a bike ride ended up as an amazing bug hunt. Fletcher and Lola Gray found dozens of cicada shells in the park! We collected them in Lola Gray’s bicycle basket and brought them home. When we got home, we looked up cicadas on the computer to learn a little more about them, and watched some really neat videos of cicadas molting. Fletcher plans to take the shells to school on Friday for his first show-and-tell.
On our way home, Lola Gray found a HUGE caterpillar – the biggest I have ever seen! I don’t think we could have asked for a better Green Hour today.
