What a wonderful Mother’s Day this has been! Pancakes this morning (R. surprised me with real maple syrup – something we gave up a while ago when the price went way up and I can’t tell you how much I had missed it!) We spent a lazy day playing in the yard, watching the chickens, playing Uno and putting together puzzles before heading out to a Chinese restaurant for a rare dinner out. When we got home from dinner we played out back a bit more and found 3 yellow pole beans ready for picking! Three beans doesn’t exactly make a meal, but it is a start – and Lola Gray (who had been a princess all day) was so excited!
The only thing that could have made the day better would have been seeing my own mother today. We are planning a trip to Roanoke in 2 weeks though, so at least I know I will get to see her soon!
