We have totally gone into hibernation mode. How do people in truly cold climates do this winter thing? We spent the weekend pretty much hunkered down in the playroom where it is toasty and warm, with only a quick excursion for pizza and ice cream at Marcos.
Today we pulled out a fantastic new book, The Usborne Big Book of Science Things to Make and Do, and tried a few experiments. We made paper beasties that walk on water (just like skipper bugs, Fletcher astutely pointed out), paper fish that swim across the water surface, and in the process learned about water surface tension. Oh – and it was a lot of fun!
