Learning to run

“Anything I’ve ever done that ultimately was worthwhile…initially scared me to death.”
― Betty Bender

I’m not exactly sure how it happened, but it seems that in about 3 weeks I will be “running” my first 5K. Now, let’s make clear the fact that I am not a runner. In fact, I have long maintained that I only run if someone is chasing me. But here I am, mere months away from my 40th birthday, and it is finally starting to sink in that if I want to be around to see my grandchildren I should probably start taking care of myself.

So, I’m trying. So far there is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy more walking than running going on, but it’s a start!
