30 Days in Rome: day 13 in Capri

Saturday was a free day for the college students, which meant a free day for us as well! We opted to catch a ferry across to the island of Capri, playground of the rich and beautiful, for a little salt air and relaxation. The place could not have been any more beautiful. We rode the funicular up the hill, then wandered up more hills with breathtaking views until we found a little spot for lunch. In the afternoon we boated out to the Blue Grotto, which was every bit as magnificent as I had hoped despite the fact that the skies were pretty overcast. In the evening the kids played in the freezing cold water, finding sea glass and throwing pebbles before hopping the ferry back to Naples. I’m not gonna kid you – I could could get used to this life!
